Wuthering Waves 3.2 livestream reveals Sigrika, her signature weapon, global schedule, exciting events, and rewards for eager Rovers.

The air around Solaris-3 grew thick with anticipation as March 13, 2026, approached. Kuro Games had finally pinned down the moment when its community would gather around screens: the Wuthering Waves 3.2 livestream would begin at 7:00 PM CST. From New Delhi to Auckland, Rovers cleared their schedules, eager to see what the next update held. The special broadcast was set to stream on the official Wuthering Waves YouTube and Twitch channels, a familiar ritual for a player base that had grown used to surprises. For weeks, rumors had swirled about a new playable character, and now the developers were ready to pull back the curtain.

A Global Broadcast for Every Time Zone

Because Wuthering Waves had become a worldwide phenomenon, the livestream schedule mattered as much as the content. The developers made sure no one had to guess when to tune in. The table below gathered the major regions, though players in other areas could rely on a countdown timer to know exactly when the show would start.

Region
Local Time

New Delhi, India
4:30 PM IST on March 13, 2026

Tokyo, Japan

Rome, Italy

Melbourne, Australia
10:00 PM on March 13, 2026

Auckland, New Zealand
12:00 AM on March 14, 2026

The timing was a delicate dance. For some, it meant a morning coffee; for others, a late-night vigil. Yet the shared excitement remained the same. As the clock ticked down, fan forums filled with speculation, fan art, and hopeful wishlists. The livestream promised a complete overview of version 3.2, and Kuro Games rarely disappointed when it came to spectacle.

Sigrika Steps into the Spotlight

At the heart of the broadcast stood Sigrika, the character teased as the newest addition to the roster. Her silhouette had already sparked countless theories. Was she a damage dealer, a support, or something entirely new? The livestream was expected to answer those questions and more. Alongside Sigrika, her signature weapon would also be revealed, giving players a clearer picture of how she might fit into existing team compositions. For theorycrafters, this was the moment they had been waiting for.

The story of Wuthering Waves had always been about discovery, and Sigrika appeared to be another piece of that puzzle. Her design, glimpsed in official teases, suggested a blend of elegance and power. Whether she would redefine the meta or offer a fresh playstyle, only the livestream would tell. Players who followed the game closely knew that new characters often came with dedicated events, story quests, and trial stages, all of which would likely be showcased during the broadcast.

Events, Rewards, and Quality-of-Life Changes

Beyond the character reveal, the Wuthering Waves 3.2 livestream was set to cover a generous slate of events and rewards. Kuro Games had a habit of showering players with resources during major updates, and 3.2 was unlikely to break that pattern. Viewers could expect limited-time challenges, login bonuses, and perhaps a few cooperative activities. The details would matter, especially for free-to-play players looking to stretch their Asterite budgets.

New Wuthering Waves codes were another highlight. These redeemable codes typically offered Astrite, Shell Credits, and upgrade materials, and they often expired quickly. The livestream would likely drop several codes, so attentive viewers would need to act fast. In the past, missing a code meant waiting for the next update, a mistake few wanted to repeat.

Quality-of-life changes also had a place in the announcement. Over the years, the developers had steadily improved daily routines, from echo management to traversal. Version 3.2 was expected to continue that trend, smoothing out rough edges and adding conveniences that players had requested. Such changes rarely made headlines, but they often had the longest-lasting impact on the overall experience.

What It All Meant for the Community

As the livestream approached, the Wuthering Waves community found itself in a familiar yet thrilling position. The game was doing incredibly well, and each update seemed to raise the bar. Version 3.2 was not just another patch; it was a chance for players to reconnect with the world, chase new goals, and welcome a new face to the team. Sigrika represented more than a set of stats. She was a promise that the journey would continue, that the developers still had stories to tell.

For those who could not watch live, the aftermath would be just as important. Summaries, character breakdowns, and code lists would spread across social media within minutes. Yet nothing quite matched the live experience: the countdown, the trailers, the collective gasp when a new character finally appeared on screen. The Wuthering Waves 3.2 livestream was more than an announcement. It was a shared moment, a checkpoint in an ongoing adventure.

When March 13 arrived, Rovers around the globe would tune in, ready to learn what came next. The update itself would follow soon after, bringing Sigrika, her weapon, events, rewards, codes, and quality-of-life improvements to the game. Until then, the community could only wait, speculate, and prepare. The tide was rising, and version 3.2 was ready to make waves.

Waiting for an update is one thing, but keeping track of prices across different games and platforms is another challenge entirely. Whether you are budgeting for a new release or simply want to compare costs before committing, having the right tools on hand makes the decision much easier. That is where a reliable [game price tracker]( comes in handy, offering a straightforward way to monitor deals and spot savings without hopping between dozens of storefronts.

For players who like to stay ahead of the curve, DealNest brings together price information in one convenient place, so you can spend less time hunting for discounts and more time enjoying the games you love. It fits neatly into the routine of any dedicated Rover looking to get the most value out of every purchase.

Hollow Knight: Silksong’s Steam reviews turned Mixed, driven by a poor Simplified Chinese translation and harsh difficulty.

So, I’ve been living under a rock—no, wait, I’ve been living in Hallownest for years, waiting for Silksong. And when it finally dropped, I was ready to lose another 100 hours of my life. But then I saw the Steam reviews. Ouch.

As of 2026, the dust has settled a bit, but the initial plunge was brutal. Hollow Knight: Silksong briefly hit a ‘Mixed’ rating worldwide on Steam, with only 76% positive reviews. Compare that to the original Hollow Knight’s 96%. For a game that scored 98 on Metacritic and had critics drooling, that’s a massive disconnect. So what went wrong? Was it the difficulty? The bugs? Nope. It was… the Simplified Chinese translation. Yeah, you read that right.

Let me tell you, the translation itself seems to have a personality—a pretentious, faux-Shakespearean one that thinks it’s smarter than everyone else. One Chinese player on Reddit, Pro_Cream, put it bluntly: ‘As a native speaker of Chinese… the quality of Chinese is so bad to the degree I prefer to play the game in English.’ Oof. Another user, 9k99G, said the dialogue reads like someone ‘[trying] to speak in fake Shakespeare vocabulary with a dialect of Yoda.’ Imagine Yoda trying to write a tragedy. That’s the vibe. A simple ‘I’ll kill you’ got mangled into something so laughable that players started sharing screenshots for the memes.

And here’s the kicker: the original Hollow Knight had six people on its Simplified Chinese localization team. Silksong has just two, and none of the original translators returned. One of them, Hertzz Liu, is even suspected of leaking game details on Tieba earlier this year. Yikes. That’s like hiring a chef who’s also a food critic—and then finding out they leaked the recipe. The translation is like a clingy ex: it just won’t let go of its bad habits.

But wait, there’s more. Steam reviews in any language also complain about difficulty. More benches, less boss damage, an easy mode—you know the drill. So it’s not just the translation. The game’s challenge is a double-edged sword, and some players are getting cut. But the translation issue is the one that sparked a coordinated-looking wave of negative reviews. Though I wouldn’t call it review bombing—these complaints are legit. Good localization is like a good waiter: you only notice when it’s bad. And here, the waiter is dropping plates and speaking in tongues.

Common complaints in Steam reviews:

Silksong

Team Cherry, to their credit, apologized via X (formerly Twitter). Matthew Griffin promised they’d ‘be working to improve the translation over the coming weeks.’ That was in late 2025, and as of 2026, we’ve seen some patches. But the Steam rating is still recovering. It’s like trying to un-spill a glass of milk. You can clean it up, but the stain lingers.

So, what’s my take? I’m a huge fan, and I want Silksong to succeed. The gameplay is stellar, the art is gorgeous, and Hornet is a queen. But this whole saga is a reminder that games are global products. If you’re going to sell in China, hire enough translators and pay them well. Otherwise, your masterpiece gets dragged by a language barrier. And that’s just sad.

Let’s hope Team Cherry fixes it soon. Because Silksong deserves better. And so do the players who just want to understand what the heck the NPCs are saying.

I mean, come on, who greenlit that translation? You know what I mean? It’s a whole thing. But hey, at least the music slaps.

In the end, the Steam review section became a battlefield, with players wielding their keyboards like nail-blades. The translation, poor thing, never stood a chance. But if Team Cherry plays their cards right, Silksong might just claw its way back to ‘Very Positive.’ And I’ll be here, waiting with my nail and my popcorn.

All this talk of ratings and patches got me thinking about how much a price tag shapes the way we judge a game. A shaky localization stings a lot less when you grabbed the title at a steep discount, and honestly, that’s how most of us end up exploring beyond our comfort zone—picking up something on sale, giving it a shot, and either falling in love or shrugging it off. That’s especially true for the long backlog of metroidvanias and soulslikes that Silksong inspired so many people to finally try.

If you’re the type who likes to keep an eye on rotating discounts across Steam, Epic, and console storefronts, it helps to have one place that gathers them instead of refreshing five tabs. Sites like [game deals today]( round up current price drops in one spot, which makes it a lot easier to spot when something on your wishlist finally dips. Whether you’re hunting for a cheap way to scratch the Silksong itch or just want to see what’s discounted before the next sale ends, it’s worth a look.

Hollow Knight Silksong Act 1 guide: efficient route for all maps, Bellways, abilities, and required bosses.

I’ve been playing Hollow Knight: Silksong since it dropped, and let me tell you, Act 1 is no walk in the park. It’s 2026 now, and while the game has been out for a hot minute, newcomers are still getting tangled up in Pharloom’s web. I’ve run this route a dozen times, so I’m gonna break down the most efficient path to collect every map, unlock every Bellway, grab all mandatory abilities, and beat every required boss. No fluff, just the good stuff. Buckle up, because we’re going from Moss Grotto to The Last Judge in one smooth ride.

Part 1: Moss Grotto to The Marrow

You start off getting tossed off a bridge—classic Hornet luck. After landing in Moss Grotto, just follow the linear path until you hit a Bench. Rest up, then head left to face the Moss Mother. She’s not too tough, but if you’re still getting used to Hornet’s moveset compared to the Knight, she might catch you off guard. I got wrecked a couple times, not gonna lie. Once she’s down, continue left, jump into the next room to meet the Chapel Maiden, then head right into Bone Bottom.

In Bone Bottom, find the building with three chevrons—that’s a Bellway. You can’t fast travel yet, but discovering it saves you a headache later. Continue right into The Marrow, meet Sherma, jump around the Bone Gate, beat a quick gauntlet, and drop down to open a shortcut. Keep going right, take the ceiling exit in the big room, and eventually you’ll run into Shakra, the cartographer. Buy the Mosslands and Marrow maps, plus the Quill and Compass. Trust me, you want these.

From Shakra, go left, jump up, and take the ceiling exit. Continue left and enter the top-left exit back in Moss Grotto. You’ll find a Weaver statue—use Bind to absorb the Silkspear ability. Then head right, take the bottom-right exit, and use Silkspear to break the Bell Beast free. Beat it to unlock the Marrow Bellway and fast travel. Easy peasy.

Part 2: Deep Docks

From the Marrow Bellway, go all the way right, drop down the tall room, and cross the wide-open room to reach Deep Docks. Find Shakra again—she’ll sell you the Deep Docks map. Right next to her is the Deep Docks Bellway. Go right, drop down, and meet the Forge Daughter. She turns Craftmetal into Tools, so she’s worth knowing.

Now for the Swift Step ability: from the Forge Daughter, go back to Shakra’s room, head up and left, travel up, then right for three rooms. Drop down, loop left, and find another Weaver Statue. Bind to get Swift Step—this lets Hornet dodge into a sprint. From there, go left, drop into Shakra’s room, then go all the way right. Use Swift Step in mid-air to reach a platform, then sprint and jump to hit a lever. That opens the gate to Lace’s boss room. Lace is a skill check, but once you beat her, head right into Far Fields.

Part 3: Far Fields

After Lace, go right through several rooms until you find a room with upward air vents. Look for two exits on the right to find Shakra (Far Fields map) and the Far Fields Bellway. From the Bellway, drop down, take the bottom-right exit, and keep going right past an automaton in the background. Navigate around the floating building to meet the Seamstress. She gives you the Flexile Spines quest—kill Hoker enemies (the flying ones with side spikes) and collect 25 spines. Return to her for the Drifter’s Cloak.

With the cloak, exit the room and you’ll bump into the Fourth Chorus—that automaton is now a boss. Beat it, then take the left exit and float upward. Some platforms have explosive rocks; hit them and get away to create new air vents. Near the top, go right into Pilgrim’s Rest, then use the cloak to go up and eventually break through the ceiling into Greymoor.

Part 4: Greymoor to Shellwood

In Greymoor, head right to find Shakra and buy the map. Then go all the way left to a large building with a locked door—platform around to the left to enter the Halfway Home. Jump into the attic to meet Nuu, who gives you the Hunter’s Journal. Continue left until you drop below a cage with a scissor-wielding enemy. Drop down, go right, take the air vent up, and navigate the rat-filled area to find the Greymoor Bellway.

From the Halfway House, run left, jump across enemies, drop below the cage, then go left instead of right on the air vent. On the far left, you’ll fight Moorwing. Defeat it to access Haunted Bellhart. Continue left into Shellwood, platform up, drop down, and find Shakra again for the Shellwood map. Then jump up using white flowers and ledges to reach the Shellwood Bellway.

From the Bellway, go right using flowers, take an elevator to a central Bench (great respawn point). Take the elevator back up, go right, loop to the top-left exit, and fight Sister Splinter. Beat her, continue left to a large room, navigate around the central column, and reach the Weaver Statue. Bind to get Cling Grip—wall jump unlocked! Now go back to the central Bench, use the elevator or wall jump to reach the top-right room, then drop down and go left. You’ll find the Widow boss room. Defeat Widow to get the Needolin, and Bellhart is no longer haunted. Meet Relic Seeker Scrounge and Pinmaster Plinney—Plinney upgrades your Needle for free. Score!

Part 5: Shellwood & Blasted Steps

After freeing Bellhart, travel back to Shellwood Bellway, then go left into Blasted Steps. Go left, jump up at the first ceiling entrance, and continue until you’re above the path you took. Go right to find Shakra (Blasted Steps map), then head to the top-left and ascend the central column. Go left to find the Blasted Steps Bellway and a Bench.

The runback to The Last Judge is brutal—many call it the hardest in the game. But if you unlock a shortcut about halfway through (loop back before the safe platform between the two large rooms), it’s much more manageable. Get to the Citadel entrance, go inside, talk to the pilgrims, and play your Needolin to ring the gate bells. The Last Judge appears. Defeat him to unlock Act 2 and enter The Citadel. Watch the cutscene, go right to the Grand Gate, spend Rosaries on the machine for a map, and you’re off to Act 2!

And there you have it—Act 1 in the bag. It’s 2026, and this route still holds up. Now go get 'em, Hornet. ️

If this run through Silksong has you itching to explore more of the genre—or you’re holding off on a few titles until the price drops—it’s worth keeping an eye on where the best deals surface. Metroidvanias in particular tend to go on sale in waves, and the difference between a full-price purchase and a well-timed one can be substantial, especially if you’re building out a backlog of indie titles alongside the bigger releases.

That’s where [PC game discounts]( come in handy. DealNest tracks price drops and promotions across storefronts so you don’t have to refresh a dozen pages hoping something goes on sale. Whether you’re hunting for your next platformer obsession or just want to fill the gaps in your library without overspending, it’s a straightforward way to see what’s actually worth buying right now.

Find the Bilewater map in Silksong by buying it from Shakra, but you need the Faydown Cloak first.

I still remember my first real trip into Bilewater in Hollow Knight: Silksong. I did not sip the water, obviously, because one sip would probably melt Hornet’s mask from the inside out. Even in 2026, after countless route videos and patch tweaks, Bilewater remains one of the easiest places to get hopelessly lost in. The water is poison, the maggots are always hungry, and they chew through Hornet’s Silk like termites in a wooden church. Fewer skills, fewer heals, more panic. If you are tired of wandering in circles, here is how I find the Bilewater map in Silksong and buy it from Shakra.

Why the Bilewater map matters

Bilewater is not a small side room. It is a large, ugly, sprawling area, and the poison does more than tick damage. The maggots in the water eat away at Hornet’s Silk, which makes it harder to use skills or regenerate masks. That combination turns every wrong turn into a slow death spiral. A map is not a luxury here. It is a lantern in a cave of bad decisions.

The catch is that Shakra will not sell you the Bilewater map right away. You can only buy it after obtaining the Faydown Cloak, the double jump ability. In the early game, Bilewater is only accessed from Sinner’s Road, and without double jump, you can reach Shakra’s area but not fully explore beyond it. Even if you somehow cheese your way up to her, the rest of Bilewater requires the Faydown Cloak to explore further and access the next area.

Getting to Shakra step by step

From the Bilewater entrance through Sinner’s Road, go right across the cage and into the next room. Keep going right while avoiding the water. Some platforms are guarded by enemies, and some ropes will trigger traps if you cut them. Be careful. Treat those ropes like tripwires in a minefield: if you do not need to slash them, do not slash them.

Stay in the same direction until you can jump onto a cage to go up to a higher platform. Jump across the platforms filled with traps, then go up by clinging to the walls. Keep climbing while avoiding the enemies until you eventually find a platform to the left. The door there leads to the next room.

Use the cage as leverage to jump left and proceed ahead. The goal is to keep going left until you start seeing Shakra’s signature rings. They are like breadcrumbs in a haunted forest, except these breadcrumbs hum with merchant energy.

Eventually, Hornet will reach the end of the path, and above her will be a narrow tunnel full of Shakra’s rings. One small problem early-game players might face is that they cannot reach the tunnel unless they possess the Faydown Cloak, aka the double jump. Even if somehow they managed to jump up, the rest of Bilewater requires that ability to explore further and access the next area.

Open the Bellway and rest first

Once the tunnel appears, do not rush straight up. First, go left and follow the sign to open the Bellway and rest on a bench in Bilewater. This is important. If you die later, and you probably will, that bench becomes your lifeline instead of a long, poisonous walk of shame.

After that, use the double jump to cling to the tunnel’s walls and go up. Double jump again and aim Clawline on the right side to land on the platform and avoid the spikes. Next, use the green bulbs to go higher and climb the platform to the right. Shakra will be waiting inside, humming her usual tune. Speak with her to purchase the Bilewater Map for 90 Rosaries in Hollow Knight: Silksong.

What you get for 90 Rosaries

Once you buy the map, you can finally explore the areas you missed and figure out how to move on to the next one. In 2026, with so many players deep into Silksong, the Bilewater map is still one of the best purchases you can make. It costs 90 Rosaries, but it saves hours of confused backtracking.

Threat
Why it hurts
My counter

Poison water
Constant damage and panic
Platform carefully; never rush

Maggots
Eat Silk and reduce skills/heals
Kill from range or avoid entirely

Trap ropes
Trigger spikes or enemy ambushes
Do not cut suspicious ropes

Narrow tunnels
Require double jump and Clawline
Get Faydown Cloak first

Enemies on platforms
Knockback into poison
Clear or bait them before jumping

Final tips from my own Bilewater failures

Buy the map as soon as you have the Faydown Cloak and 90 Rosaries. Open the Bellway and bench before climbing to Shakra. Do not fight every enemy. Sometimes running past a problem is the correct strategy, especially when the floor is literal acid. And if you fall into the water, do not panic-jump. Panic-jumping is how you land in more water.

Bilewater is a maze that wants you to drown in your own confidence. The map turns that maze into a checklist. You will still die, but at least you will know where you died, why you died, and which poisonous corner to avoid next time. That is worth 90 Rosaries every single run.

If you are still deciding whether to pick up Silksong or fill the gaps in your library between runs, the price you pay matters as much as the route you take. Rather than checking the store page every other day and hoping for a discount, I started keeping a [steam sale tracker]( open in a second tab, which quietly flags when wishlisted titles actually drop instead of leaving it to luck. It is the same habit that saved me from overpaying on the last few indie metroidvanias I bought, and it costs nothing to check.

That kind of patience pays off in games like this one, where a single misjudged purchase stings almost as much as a bad Clawline into spikes. Watch the price, wait for the dip, and spend the difference on Rosaries instead.

Long-awaited sequels like Silksong, Red Dead Redemption 2, and Alan Wake 2 prove patience can deliver unforgettable gaming experiences.

Hi, my name is a person who has watched too many teaser trailers, and I have a problem: I believe release dates are suggestions. Sometimes games get announced way too early. A flashy logo appears at Nintendo Direct, The Game Awards, Gamescom, or the late, great E3, and suddenly I am emotionally invested in a project that will not be playable until my hairline has its own opinion. Marvel’s Wolverine? Teased. Kingdom Hearts 4? Teased. The next Mass Effect? Teased, presumably, while we all stare at a nebula and pretend that counts as news. Who among us has not rewatched a 2021 trailer in 2026 and whispered, any day now, buddy?

But here is the thing: when a long-awaited sequel finally arrives and it is actually good, the wait can feel like a weird badge of honor. In 2026, we have plenty of evidence that patience sometimes pays off, and also plenty of evidence that I should maybe touch grass between announcements. Let us look at the sequels that made the suffering worth it.

Hollow Knight: Silksong: Six Years, One Very Fast Bug

Silksong was the poster child for waiting. Six years of development, endless memes, and a community that turned clown makeup into a lifestyle. But when it finally arrived, the early impressions were positive, and suddenly everyone was sprinting through the game to avoid spoilers like it was a race against the internet itself. Is it hard? Yes. Did some people debate the difficulty until their keyboards melted? Also yes. But the art style is a step up from the original, with brighter colors and more detailed animations. Hornet moves faster and more fluidly than The Knight, and the game is bigger. As a Metroidvania fan, I can confirm that this is the good kind of waiting: the kind where the sequel does not just repeat the first game but builds a shinier, scarier, more acrobatic throne on top of it.

Red Dead Redemption 2: Eight Years to Become a Cowboy

Red Dead Redemption 2 satisfied fans who had been craving a sequel since 2010. Eight years was a long time, but Rockstar used that time to make a world so big and detailed that I once spent twenty minutes watching Arthur Morgan brush a horse. The gameplay was more complex, the story was intense and heartfelt, and player choice could shape the experience. You could play it as a typical Rockstar story, or you could treat it as a Wild West simulator and live out your best cowboy days. Who needs therapy when you have a camp full of sad outlaws and a debt to society?

Alan Wake 2: Thirteen Years of Flashlight Therapy

Alan Wake came out in 2010, and Alan Wake 2 did not arrive until 2023. That is a long time to keep a flashlight charged. The game is short, but it is packed with great moments, music plays a big role like in many Remedy games, and the horror elements are genuinely terrifying in the dark. The gameplay is more open than fans expected, especially after the first game. The cliffhanger ending is brutal, but hopefully we will not wait another thirteen years for answers. I am not sure my nerves can handle another decade of shadowy trees.

Baldur’s Gate 3: The Return Nobody Thought Was Possible

Baldur’s Gate: Siege of Dragonspear was a 2016 expansion to Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition, which was a 2012 release. It was the last entry before Baldur’s Gate 3 fully launched in 2023, but realistically fans had been waiting since 2000, when the second mainline game released. No one thought a sequel was possible, because many old developers had moved on. Then the franchise returned, grabbed a ridiculous amount of attention, and earned it. It was a groundbreaking return to form for CRPGs, and I say that as someone who rolled a natural 1 on patience.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Rebirth: A Trilogy of Teases

Final Fantasy 7 blew the lid off the PS1 in 1997. When Square Enix showed a tech demo of the opening on PS3 in 2005, fans got excited. That demo was never a real game, but that did not stop us from dreaming. Then, in 2015, the remake was announced for real. It hit a snag, but Final Fantasy 7 Remake released in 2020 as part of a trilogy. It may not be exactly what fans expected, but the action gameplay and story twists won people over. Rebirth was received even better. Is it weird to be emotionally attached to a remake of a game I already played? Yes. Is it also wonderful? Also yes.

Donkey Kong Bananza: DK Finally Got His Groove Back

Donkey Kong fans were not doing well for a decade. Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze was a 2014 Wii U game and the last entry in the series. Even though DK kicked off Mario’s career in 1981, Mario became the cash cow. Then fans were rewarded in a way they could not have predicted with Donkey Kong Bananza. DK was back, better than ever, and this time in 3D with fully destructible environments. It was a new look and a new gameplay style, and that is exactly what helped it excel. Sometimes the monkey needs to smash everything to feel alive.

Kingdom Hearts 3: The Wait Was Full of Spin-Offs

Kingdom Hearts 2 released in 2006 in North America, one year after Japan. Kingdom Hearts 3 did not release until 2019, with spin-offs filling the gap, the last prominent one being 2012’s Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance. Fans had portable games and HD collections, but it was not the same as a mainline console follow-up. Kingdom Hearts 3 was worth it, though, with fluid combat and camera controls that fixed so many PS2-era issues. Who knew that waiting over a decade would make a Keyblade feel like a family heirloom?

Psychonauts 2: The Sequel Nobody Expected

Psychonauts 2 is a game fans basically never thought would happen. Most Double Fine games are experimental one-offs and rarely become franchises. A decade after the original, a sequel was announced in 2015, which was shocking. Even then, it did not materialize until 2021. It felt like the game Double Fine wanted to make in 2005, with strange visual experiments and gameplay tricks only modern hardware could handle. The original was a cult hit, but Psychonauts 2 made itself known far and wide as something everyone should pay attention to.

The Waiting Table

Game
Wait
Worth It?

Hollow Knight: Silksong
6 years
Yes, if you like suffering beautifully

Red Dead Redemption 2
8 years
Yes, cowboy

Alan Wake 2
13 years
Yes, bring a flashlight

Baldur’s Gate 3
23 years since BG2
Yes, critical success

Final Fantasy 7 Remake
23 years since original
Yes, in parts

Donkey Kong Bananza
11 years since Tropical Freeze
Yes, banana

Kingdom Hearts 3
13 years since KH2
Yes, mostly

Psychonauts 2
16 years since original
Yes, very much

So, what have we learned in 2026? Early announcements are emotional gambling. They are also sometimes worth it. A teaser can make us wait six, eight, or thirteen years, and if the sequel lands well, we forgive the silence. If it does not, we sharpen our pitchforks. But when a game like Silksong, Red Dead Redemption 2, Alan Wake 2, Baldur’s Gate 3, Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Donkey Kong Bananza, Kingdom Hearts 3, or Psychonauts 2 finally arrives and delivers, the wait becomes part of the story. And honestly? I will keep watching those trailers. I will keep whispering any day now. I will keep being a clown, because sometimes the circus is worth it.

All that patience and hype eventually leads to a purchase decision, though. When a long-delayed sequel finally arrives, you want to make sure your money goes as far as your excitement does—especially if you’re also catching up on older entries in the series.

That’s where a resource like DealNest comes in. It gathers deals from various storefronts so you can compare prices without hopping between tabs. Before you commit to that next adventure, take a moment to [check game prices]( and see if you can start playing for less.
Sister Splinter in Hollow Knight: Silksong is a fierce Shellwood boss; this guide covers her location, phases, minions, and winning tactics.

In the sprawling, treacherous world of Hollow Knight: Silksong, few encounters test a player’s mettle quite like the battle against Sister Splinter. As of 2026, this boss remains a notorious roadblock for many adventurers navigating the thorny depths of Shellwood. While Sister Splinter’s individual attacks are relatively simple to read, the cluttered arena—filled with spiky brambles and relentless flying minions—can quickly turn the fight into a chaotic nightmare. However, with the right approach and a keen understanding of her patterns, players can transform this daunting challenge into a manageable skirmish.

️ Where to Find Sister Splinter and the Nearest Bench

Sister Splinter resides deep within the heart of Shellwood, a region marked on the map. She guards the path to the wall jump ability, a crucial upgrade that opens up new exploration avenues. To reach her, players must first unlock the elevator that provides easy access to her chamber. Once unlocked, it’s wise to rest at the bench near the center of Shellwood for the shortest runback. This bench costs 50 rosaries to unlock, so players should ensure they have enough currency on hand. From the bench, take the elevator up, enter the room to the right, and platform across and up the room. A series of pogo jumps across flowers will lead leftward into the boss chamber.

️ Phase One: Keep the Arena Clear

In the first phase, the priority is maintaining a clean arena. When Sister Splinter retreats into the ceiling, spikes will slam down shortly after. These can be broken with a few hits. Players shouldn’t waste time destroying every spike, but clearing those that restrict movement is essential. Her attacks come in sets of three, alternating left and right strikes. Beams of light telegraph incoming spikes, providing opportunities to dodge and heal. Staying on the correct side of her attacks allows for consistent damage. When staggered, she falls to the floor—players should move away to avoid impact damage, then use the opportunity to land hits or heal.

Phase Two: Manage the Minions

Phase two escalates the chaos. Sister Splinter summons flying enemies at the start, giving players only a few seconds to react. Instead of trying to melee them, use the Silkspear attack if silk is available—it kills them in one hit, preventing the pace from slipping. She continues to spawn flyers throughout the fight, so silk should be reserved for eliminating them rather than healing. Notably, her own attacks can kill these minions if they are in the path, which can be used to the player’s advantage. If brambles accumulate too quickly, Silkspear can also one-shot them. Equipping a tool like the Longpin (found in a side room in Shellwood) or the Straight Pin as a backup is advisable.

Phase
Key Threats
Strategy

One
Spike drops, left/right strikes
Clear key spikes, dodge, punish staggers

Two

Stay aggressive: Passive play allows Sister Splinter to control the arena.

Use Silkspear liberally: It’s the key to managing both minions and brambles.

Heal only during safe windows: Such as when spikes are telegraphed or after she is staggered.

Keep moving: Don’t let yourself be cornered by spikes or flyers.

After the Fight

Upon defeating Sister Splinter, players should exit the arena to the left. In the area beyond, a statue awaits—binding to it grants the wall jump ability. This ability is essential for reaching the boss fight above Bellhart and progressing through the first act of Hollow Knight: Silksong.

In 2026, with the game’s community still thriving, Sister Splinter remains a rite of passage. By keeping the arena clear and using the right tools, players can overcome this thorny adversary and continue their journey through the hauntingly beautiful world of Pharloom. Whether you’re a veteran or a newcomer, these strategies will help you turn a nightmare into a breeze.

If Sister Splinter has reignited your appetite for tough, atmospheric action-platformers, you might be looking for the next challenge to sink into after Pharloom. That’s where DealNest comes in—it’s a handy place to browse [PC game discounts]( across a range of genres, so you can line up your next metroidvania or indie gem without paying full price. Whether you’re hunting for something as demanding as Silksong or just want to bulk up your backlog, checking DealNest between sessions can be a smart move.

Unlock Hollow Knight Silksong Steel Soul mode instantly with the Konami Code—one life, no second chances.

Let me be honest with you: I am not a masochist. At least, that is what I tell myself until I see a permadeath mode in a game I love. Then suddenly I am entering ancient cheat codes at 2 a.m., whispering ‘this will be fine’ to my monitor. That is exactly what happened when I learned about Hollow Knight: Silksong’s Steel Soul mode. In the original Hollow Knight, Steel Soul was simple and cruel: die once, and your save is gone. Silksong brings that same energy back. Normally, you would have to beat the whole game first to unlock it. But there is a shortcut, and it is hiding in plain sight.

The Konami Code Still Works, Because of Course It Does

If you grew up anywhere near a controller, you know the Konami Code. Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A. It is the cheat code equivalent of a handshake. In Silksong, you can input it while viewing the Extras menu. Do that, and you unlock Steel Soul mode immediately. No full playthrough required. No final boss victory lap. Just a forbidden ritual and a sudden sense of dread.

PCGamer credited a Reddit user for proving the unlock existed. I love that. In 2026, with datamining and guide wikis everywhere, an old-school cheat code can still feel like a secret passed around a schoolyard. Except now the schoolyard is a subreddit, and the secret is ‘enjoy permanent death, idiot.’

What Steel Soul Actually Does

Steel Soul is not a difficulty slider. It is a lifestyle choice. Here is the basic breakdown:

Mode
How you unlock it
What happens when you die

Normal
Default
You respawn and try again

Steel Soul
Beat the game, or enter the Konami Code in Extras
Your run is over. Permanently.

That is it. That is the whole pitch. One life. No continues. No second chances. If you fall to a random enemy in a room you have cleared ten times, that is the run. If you misjudge a jump, that is the run. If your cat walks across your keyboard during a boss fight, that is also the run, and your cat is now the villain of your personal story.

Team Cherry Made Things Easier. Steel Soul Says No.

After Silksong launched, plenty of players complained about the difficulty. Team Cherry listened. The first patch was designed to soften some early-game areas. Sandcarvers were supposed to deal less damage. The Moorwing and Sister Splinter bosses were meant to be a touch more merciful. Several other adjustments were aimed at making the opening hours less brutal.

That is good news for most people. It is also completely irrelevant if you choose Steel Soul. You can take every kindness the patch offers and still get deleted by one bad dodge. The patch lowers the floor. Steel Soul removes the floor, the ceiling, and the safety net. If you want the gentler version, play normal mode. If you want to feel your pulse in your teeth, enter the code.

Should You Do This on Your First Run?

Probably not. Actually, definitely not. Steel Soul is not designed for a blind first playthrough. You do not know the boss patterns. You do not know which enemies explode. You do not know where the traps are. You do not know that one room is going to ask you to do a precision platforming sequence while something horrible breathes down your neck.

But ‘probably not’ is not ‘never.’ Some people love the tension. Some people want every decision to matter. Some people think a normal save file is just a rehearsal. If you are that kind of player, the Konami Code is your enabler. It lets you skip the prerequisite and jump straight into the anxiety simulator.

I tried it for about an hour. My hands were sweating. I played slower than I have ever played a game. I checked every corner twice. Then I walked into a room I thought was safe, got hit by something I never saw, and stared at the screen like it had personally betrayed me. Ten out of ten. Would suffer again.

Does This Ruin the Reward?

Maybe a little. Unlocking a mode by beating the game is a badge of honor. Unlocking it with a cheat code is more like finding a back door. But here is the thing: the real reward was never the unlock. The real reward is actually beating Steel Soul. Bragging that you have the mode unlocked but never played it is not impressive. Bragging that you finished a permadeath run in Silksong? That is the kind of thing that makes people either bow or back away slowly.

So yes, the Konami Code diminishes the completion reward slightly. It also opens the door for more people to experience one of the most intense ways to play. I think that trade is worth it. Team Cherry clearly knows the code is there. They left it in. That feels like a wink.

Final Thoughts

If you are playing Silksong in 2026 and you want a fresh reason to be nervous, go to the Extras menu. Enter the code. Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A. Then start a new file and accept that every mistake is final. It is stupid. It is brutal. It is also one of the most memorable ways to replay a game I already love.

Just do not blame me when your first Steel Soul run ends because you got cocky in a tutorial area. I warned you. Kind of.

There is one other kind of preparation that has nothing to do with dodging or memorizing attack patterns: sorting out what you actually want to play next, and what it is worth paying for. Silksong may be the game consuming your evenings right now, but most players keep a wishlist running in the background — the metroidvanias, soulslikes, and indie darlings that go on sale at unpredictable moments. Catching those discounts without refreshing store pages every morning is exactly what a decent tracker is for.

Instead of guessing whether a price has finally dropped, you can set a target and let an alert do the watching, which frees you up to focus on the run that actually matters. If you want that kind of patience working in your favor the next time a sale rolls around, [this price tracking tool]( is a straightforward place to start — and it costs you nothing but a few minutes of setup before you dive back into Hallownest’s sequel.

Reach Hollow Knight: Silksong’s elusive Putrified Ducts via Memorium with this route guide, covering the hidden entrance and key obstacles.

In 2026, Hollow Knight: Silksong players are still mapping every corner of Pharloom, and the Putrified Ducts remains one of the most elusive optional regions. It is among the couple of tricky areas that are only accessed through a specific route, and the path is not in plain sight. Hornet must destroy an obstacle to reveal the entrance, which makes the journey feel like a secret within a secret. Although reaching the Putrified Ducts can be time-consuming, the area contains many points of interest that make the trip worthwhile.

The Main Route Begins in Memorium

The Putrified Ducts is mainly available from the Memorium area in Hollow Knight: Silksong. A lower part can be accessed from Bilewater, but that small section does not connect to the rest of the region. What players will find there is the Broodfeast quest and the Key of Apostate. For the full experience, the Memorium approach is required.

To start, players should enter Memorium by heading north from the Grand Bellway, all the way to the top. Next, they must use the double jump, which is a necessity, to climb the platform and access the area. In Memorium, Hornet should jump to the platform containing the lore board, then hop to the one above it. Hornet will arrive at the second level of the area, and the path will split.

Through the Enemy Corridor

Proceeding right leads to an area infested with enemies in all shapes and forms. Players must fight the small and big spiders, then keep running to stumble upon a mini-boss near the end of the path. The mini-boss can be fought or ignored completely to quickly go through the door. After that, players should look down and carefully descend the platforms to reach the bottom while avoiding the enemies that roll around. This section rewards patience more than aggression.

Go through the door to the right with the hanging sign to enter a seemingly empty room. Walk inside further and look up to find a narrow tunnel. Double jump and Clawline upward, then proceed forward to land on a bridge. At the end of the bridge is a tall climbable wall. Using a combination of skills like cling grip and double jump is essential. Between the two walls is an obstacle that can be destroyed. Carefully stick Hornet to the wall and try to destroy the rocks to reveal a path.

Head right and enter the dimly lit tunnel. Proceed further without touching the spikes, and players will eventually reach the Putrified Ducts area. It is very similar to Bilewater, especially the maggot-filled swamp that decreases Hornet’s silk. Luckily, there is an item in this area that can protect Hornet from this water for a short period of time. Additionally, there is an NPC that will help reveal the locations of the fleas that were missed while exploring Pharloom.

Survival and Exploration Tips

The Putrified Ducts is not a place for careless exploration. The maggot-filled swamp is one of the most punishing environmental hazards in the region because it steadily decreases Hornet’s silk. Players should locate the protective item early, then use its short window to cross dangerous stretches and reach safer ground. Silk management becomes a priority, since Hornet may need healing or offensive tools while navigating enemies and spikes.

The NPC in the area is another major reason to visit. This character helps reveal the locations of missed fleas across Pharloom, making the Putrified Ducts valuable for completionists. In 2026, with many players returning to old saves or starting fresh runs, this flea-reveal service remains one of the most useful rewards in the region.

The lower section accessed from Bilewater is easy to overlook. It does not connect to the rest of the Putrified Ducts, but it contains the Broodfeast quest and the Key of Apostate. Players who only take the Memorium route may miss these items entirely. A thorough explorer should visit both approaches.

Finally, the mini-boss near the end of the enemy corridor is optional. Fighting it may feel satisfying, but ignoring it is a valid strategy for players who want to preserve health and silk. The door is close enough that a quick escape is possible. Once inside the empty room, the real challenge becomes vertical navigation: Clawline, double jump, cling grip, and a sharp eye for the destructible obstacle.

With its hidden entrance, silk-draining swamp, optional mini-boss, and flea-revealing NPC, the Putrified Ducts is more than a detour. It is a compact test of everything Hollow Knight: Silksong asks from Hornet: mobility, combat awareness, environmental survival, and curiosity. The route from Memorium is long, but every step leads to rewards that justify the effort. For players aiming to complete Pharloom in 2026, the Putrified Ducts deserves a place on the map.

Once the Putrified Ducts are fully mapped and its rewards collected, many players start planning their next journey through Pharloom or looking for another challenging metroidvania to sink into. Comparing prices before buying can make that next adventure much easier on the wallet, especially when storefront discounts rotate quickly.

For anyone hunting for a discounted copy of Silksong, a DLC, or a similarly demanding action-platformer, DealNest is worth a look. It gathers current offers in one place, so you can browse [game deals today]( before deciding where to spend your Geo—or your real-world currency.

Silksong: After Cling Grip opens Shellwood, Hornet must break Bellhart’s curse for the Needolin, then find Shakra to buy the Blasted Steps map.

The canopy of Shellwood had finally gone quiet. Hornet stood among the hanging vines with a new trick woven into her limbs — the Cling Grip, the wall-clinging skill that every traveler in Pharloom eventually needs and that no one can afford to skip. Shellwood is not an optional detour; it is a gate, and the gate has just swung open. So the question that follows is a natural one, the same question that has sent thousands of players scrolling through forums in 2026: what now? Where does the pilgrimage go once the trees stop talking?

The answer is not east, and it is not deeper into the woods. It is back toward the people Hornet left behind — specifically, toward the haunted settlement of Bellhart.

First, Break the Curse in Bellhart ️

Before any gate in the Citadel will acknowledge her, Hornet needs a voice that can answer the Citadel’s own music. That voice comes from the Needolin, and the Needolin can only be earned by lifting the curse that has settled over Bellhart. Until that curse breaks, the road ahead is simply a wall with scenery painted on it. This is why the sequence matters so much: Cling Grip opens Shellwood, and Bellhart opens everything after it.

Once the Needolin hums in her grasp, the map changes shape. Songs become doors. Ledges become invitations.

The Shortcut Out of Shellwood 🧭

Most travelers assume they must crawl all the way back through Bone Bottom and start the western trek from scratch. There is a better way, and it hides in plain sight. Hornet should move toward the bench that links Shellwood to Bone Bottom — but she should not drop down to it. Just before reaching that bench, she needs to look up. A passage hangs overhead, and the freshly acquired wall jump is the key to it. Climbing that shaft unlocks a bench sitting directly beside the Shellwood Bellway, which turns a long walk into a short hop.

From that bench, the route unfolds like this:

Step
Action
Reward

1
Run left through the large open room until an upward path appears
Progress toward the Steps

2
Climb and locate the bench
A safe place to rest and save

3
Head left, then up, into the tall vertical chamber
Access to the eastern rooms

4
Enter the right-hand room from the vertical area
Shakra’s location

Finding Shakra and the Blasted Steps Map ️

The vertical chamber is the landmark to watch for. Once Hornet reaches it, she should slip into the room on the right, where the wandering merchant Shakra waits. Shakra sells the Blasted Steps map, and buying it is not a luxury — the region is a maze of wind, sand, and crumbling stone, and going in blind is how runs end. There is a simple tell for whether the right room has been found: Shakra’s signature rings begin appearing on the ground, scattered like coins from a pocket.

With the map in hand, the next objective is vertical. Hornet must climb the tall chamber until she finds the Bellway station of the Blasted Steps. There are two ways up — straight from Shakra’s room, or out the door and up from the corridor beyond — and both funnel to the same platform. It is worth resting at the bench, unlocking the fast-travel point, and only then pressing east.

The Grand Gate and the Last Judge ️

East of the Bellway, the path narrows and the wind sharpens until Hornet arrives at the Grand Gate itself. Here the Needolin proves its worth: the gate does not open to strength or speed, only to song. This is precisely why the Bellhart curse could never be postponed.

And then the gate delivers its price. A boss encounter with the Last Judge begins, a fight that punishes anyone who wandered in without a nearby respawn point. That is the quiet reason the bench by the Grand Gate matters so much — losing the duel and waking up half a region away is a far crueler punishment than the fight itself.

A Quick Checklist Before the Gate

Break the Bellhart curse and claim the Needolin

Use the hidden upward passage near the Bone Bottom bench for a shortcut

Buy the Blasted Steps map from Shakra

Unlock the Blasted Steps Bellway and rest at the bench

Approach the Grand Gate, play the Needolin, and brace for the Last Judge

Shellwood taught Hornet how to hold on. Bellhart taught her how to speak. The Grand Gate is where those two lessons finally meet — and where the Citadel begins to listen.

Runs through the Blasted Steps tend to teach the same lesson in different ways: preparation is what separates a clean ascent from a loop of painful resets. That mindset is worth carrying over before you even press start — entering the Citadel with your tools upgraded, your map collection complete, and your patience intact turns a punishing climb into something closer to a dance. Plenty of players only discover how much they enjoy this style of exploration after they’ve already committed to a full playthrough, which makes getting the base game at a fair price the first real decision of the journey.

If you’re still weighing whether to take that first step, browsing a site like [cheapest steam keys]( from DealNest is a practical way to compare prices before committing, so the only thing left to worry about is the Last Judge’s timing. Once the download is done, the checklist above is waiting — and the Grand Gate won’t open itself.

Hollow Knight: Silksong combat shines with deep tools, Crests, and movement abilities that make every fight a dance.

Combat is my love language. Whether I’m blasting Covenant in Halo, timing parries in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, or flowing through a room of goons in Batman: Arkham, I stick with games because the fights feel good. I can forgive a mediocre story if the combat sings. I cannot forgive a masterpiece that makes me feel like I’m swinging a pool noodle. So when Hollow Knight: Silksong finally arrived, I wasn’t daydreaming about lore or biomes. I was here for the violence. In 2026, after years of waiting, I can finally say it: Silksong’s combat has its hooks in me, and I am not asking for help.

I have always been a little scared of Metroidvanias. The open maps, the backtracking, the ‘where was that one cracked wall from four hours ago’ feeling — my brain just blue-screens. If a Metroidvania doesn’t grab me with its mechanics, I’m gone. The original Hollow Knight, great as it is, almost lost me. Its art, enemies, and lore are legendary. Its combat, though? Floaty. Simple. In those first few hours, before movement abilities, fights boiled down to hitting one attack button, stepping away from danger, and pogoing off enemies like a very goth trampoline. It worked. It just didn’t make me lean forward in my chair.

Silksong’s Tool System Is The Build Diversity I Craved

Silksong fixes that within its opening hours. The tool system is the big reason. You get red, blue, and yellow slots early, and each color does a different job. Red tools are usually offensive toys like throwing knives. Blue tools give passive buffs, such as faster silk regeneration. Yellow tools often help with exploration. Suddenly I’m not just Hornet; I’m Hornet with a curated little murder kit.

Tool Color
Main Role
My Favorite Use

Red
Offense
Throwing knives when I panic

Blue
Passive buffs
Faster silk regen for healing

Yellow
Exploration
Finding secrets I definitely missed

This is the depth I wanted in 2017. And it gets better with Crests. Crests change Hornet’s moveset and offer different tool slot combinations. They don’t just nudge numbers; they alter how you play. The new diagonal air attack, which I initially side-eyed, starts to feel natural once you find the right Crest. Build diversity in a Metroidvania? Don’t @ me, but it’s about time.

Movement Abilities Make Every Fight A Dance

Within the first few hours, you will likely unlock Swift Step and Drifter’s Cloak. Swift Step lets you sprint and dodge. Drifter’s Cloak lets you glide for a few seconds. On paper, that sounds like standard platformer stuff. In combat, it is transformative. Bosses love to dash around like they drank twelve espressos, and these abilities let me close gaps or hover above the chaos. I stop feeling like a tourist and start feeling like a predator.

The parry has also received an upgrade. I still find it a bit too risky to spam, because I enjoy having health, but the seemingly larger window encourages me to actually try. When I nail a parry, I feel like a genius. When I miss, I feel like a bug who has made poor life choices. That risk-reward tension keeps every encounter spicy.

Why Silksong’s Combat Finally Clicked For Me

The magic is that all these systems are present early. You don’t have to beat half the game before combat becomes interesting. Tools, Crests, Swift Step, Drifter’s Cloak, and a friendlier parry combine to make moment-to-moment gameplay riveting. Even when I’m being pulverized repeatedly by the Savage Beast Fly’s RNG army, I’m not bored. I’m annoyed in the best way. I’m learning. I’m swapping tools. I’m trying a new Crest. I’m not crying, you’re crying.

Hollow Knight: Silksong did not just give me a new world to explore. It gave me combat that respects my time and my thumbs. It turned a genre I usually admire from a distance into something I want to master. In 2026, with so many games fighting for my attention, that is a rare and beautiful thing. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have a Savage Beast Fly to bully, and this time I have knives.

Of course, all this combat mastery is only half the battle — the other half is actually affording the games you want to play. Between new releases, lingering sales, and the occasional impulse buy, keeping track of what’s actually a good deal can feel like its own boss fight. That’s where a [game price tracker]( like DealNest comes in handy — it monitors prices across stores so you can spend less time refreshing pages and more time actually playing.

Whether you’re hunting for a deal on the original Hollow Knight, waiting for Silksong’s first discount, or just building a backlog you’ll never finish, having a reliable price tracker means more money for the games you actually want to play. And after the beating Silksong’s bosses have given me, I could use a win that doesn’t involve a parry. If you’re similarly budget-conscious, it’s worth a look.

Silksong Act 2 Citadel guide: buy maps, find Ventrica, and hunt the Threefold Melody.

After defeating The Last Judge and triggering the Act 2 cutscene, Hornet finally enters the Citadel in Team Cherry’s Silksong. Unlike the more linear Act 1, Act 2 opens up a sprawling, interconnected map that has left many players wondering: what should they do first? With the game now well into 2026, veterans and newcomers alike continue to seek direction. This guide breaks down the most important early objectives in the Citadel, from buying maps to hunting the Threefold Melody.

1. Purchase the Grand Gate Map (40 Rosaries) ️

The very first thing players should do in Act 2 is buy a map. Unlike Act 1, where maps came from NPCs like Shakra, most Citadel maps are sold by machines. In the first room of the Citadel, players will find one such machine. Interact with it and pay 40 Rosaries to receive the Grand Gate map. This small zone connects the Blasted Steps to the larger Choral Chambers above, but it is a crucial starting point.

2. Grab the Free Underworks Map

From the Grand Gate map machine, head right and drop down into The Underworks. This eerie sub-area is filled with forced labor bugs and deadly fans that deal two Masks of damage. Traverse upward until you spot a sign with lines and shapes. Enter that room to find the Underworks map pinned to a board — it costs nothing. Then continue upward to reach the Choral Chambers.

3. Buy the Choral Chambers Map (70 Rosaries) and Find Ventrica

Continue through the Choral Chambers until you reach another map machine at the start of a long, slightly angled room with three enemies. Purchase this map for 70 Rosaries. Then go left to discover your first Ventrica station, a fast-travel point that will prove invaluable later.

4. Unlock the Shortcut to The Slab ️

Normally, reaching The Slab requires players to let Hornet get captured by a large enemy in the Deep Docks. However, there is a shortcut on the left side of the Choral Chambers. This path connects almost directly to a Bench and the Slab Bellway station. Why is this important? Because later, players must return to the Slab Bellway to reach Mount Fay, which contains a powerful movement item — but only after acquiring the Clawline ability somewhere in the Citadel.

5.
At the very top of the Choral Chambers, players will face the Cogwork Dancers, the first major boss of the Citadel. This fight is not the hardest in the game, but it is one of the most tragic and beautifully designed. Hornet battles two dancers who move in time with the music, telegraphing their attacks. The fight has three phases as the song accelerates. After defeating one dancer for the third time, it is destroyed. The remaining dancer continues alone in a somber fourth phase. After winning, players unlock the Cogworks Core below and the rest of the Choral Chambers to the right.

6.
After the Cogwork Dancers, head right — carefully jumping over two tough, large enemies — to reach a strange building on the far top-right of the Citadel. Enter and ring the bell inside to spawn a bench. Outside, an NPC named the Caretaker asks if you rang the bell and warns that it will call pilgrims. Later, this spot transforms into a new town hub called Songclave. The Caretaker may be annoyed, but players can now fulfill Wishwall requests from pilgrims.

7. Locate the Grand Bellway in Choral Chambers

Make your way to the far bottom-right of the Choral Chambers to find the Grand Bellway, a Bellway station in the center of the Citadel. This provides convenient travel back to Act 1 areas, allowing players to collect missing Mask Shards, Spool Fragments, optional abilities, and complete side content.

8.
The Whispering Vaults are tricky to reach. They can only be accessed by turning a gigantic wheel-gate so its pathway faces left to right. To get there, return to the Cogwork Dancers arena and drop down into the Cogwork Core. This sub-zone resembles the Path of Pain from Hollow Knight. Go down three floors, then loop down, right, and up to reach the other side of the central column. Use all of Hornet’s movement skills and bounce off cogs with downward slashes. At the top-right, continue pogoing off moving cogs, then head right. At the end of the hallway, find a room leading to the left side of the wheel-gate. Hit the lever, cross to the right, and enter the Whispering Vaults. Somewhere inside is a Pale Oil, which upgrades Hornet’s Needle for a second time, increasing damage.

9.
After defeating the Cogwork Dancers, the background of their arena rotates to reveal three ominous statues. Interact with them to learn Hornet’s final task: find all three pieces of the Threefold Melody and play it before the statues. The pieces are hidden in difficult, out-of-the-way areas. Two are locked behind challenging gauntlet rooms in the top-left and bottom-right of the Citadel. The third is hidden high atop the Clockwork Core. This quest will take players through the Cauldron, deeper Whispering Vaults, Bilewater, High Halls, Whiteward, Memorium, and more.

Conclusion

Act 2 of Silksong may feel overwhelming at first, but by following these steps, players can build a solid foundation. As 2026 progresses, the community continues to uncover new secrets and optimizations. So, what are you waiting for? Grab that map, ring that bell, and ascend the Citadel.

Silksong demands a lot from its players — long gauntlets, frame-perfect pogo timings, and boss fights that punish a single misread input. That kind of endurance run eventually takes a toll on your setup, whether it’s a drifting analog stick, a muddy monitor, or a keyboard that has seen better days. Replacing gear mid-playthrough isn’t cheap, though, so it helps to know where the genuine discounts live before committing to a purchase. [DealNest]( gathers current offers on gaming hardware and accessories in one place, making it easier to tell a real price drop from a marketing illusion.

Not every Citadel explorer needs new equipment, of course — some are simply lining up their next adventure for the moment the credits roll. With so many metroidvanias and soulslikes arriving alongside Silksong, keeping tabs on sales is the easiest way to grow a library without draining your Rosaries. Whether you’re after a bargain controller or a cheap copy of whatever comes next on your list, checking an aggregator before you buy is a habit that quietly pays for itself.

Get the Hollow Knight: Silksong Putrified Ducts map free with our step-by-step guide, using Clawline from Memorium to save Rosaries.

In the vast, labyrinthine kingdom of Pharloom, a map is more than a tool—it’s a lifeline. I’ve spent countless hours wandering through Hollow Knight: Silksong, and I’ve learned that every Rosary counts. So when I discovered that the Putrified Ducts map could be acquired for free, I dropped everything to track it down. Here’s how I did it, step by step, so you can save your Rosaries for more important things—like upgrades and fast travel.

Unlike most maps in Silksong, which require you to find a mapmaker and pay a hefty sum, the Putrified Ducts map is simply sitting on a table. No transaction, no haggling. Just a free map waiting to be claimed. But getting there is no walk in the park. The area is accessible only from the Memorium, not from Bilewater as some might think. The top part of the Putrified Ducts is hidden behind a secret path, and if you’re not careful, you’ll miss it entirely.

Start at the Memorium entrance and head up to the first door on your right. Proceed forward, cutting down any enemies in your path. Soon, you’ll drop down near a door marked with a sign. Enter it and perform a double jump to access a secret path. This leads you to a large bridge. Here, you’ll need to use your Clawline to the left, double jump, then Clawline to the right, and finally climb the wall. Look for a breakable part—destroy it and avoid the spikes inside as you run to the right. This brings you to the Putrified Ducts.

Step
Action

1
Start at Memorium entrance, go up to first door on right

2
Proceed past enemies, drop down near door with sign

3
Enter, double jump into secret path to large bridge

4
Use Clawline left, double jump, Clawline right, climb wall

5
Destroy breakable part, avoid spikes, run right to Putrified Ducts

6
Jump down from bridge, avoid swamp with maggots

7
Proceed right across platforms, jump to higher one, continue to door

8
Enter next room, glide down to Bellway sign, pay Rosaries for fast-travel/bench

9
Return outside, glide down to left room

10
Walk to end, jump up to bait veins, get carried up, break free

11
Approach table, take Putrified Ducts map for free

Once you’re in the Putrified Ducts, jump down from the bridge, but beware of the swamp infested with maggots. Slowly proceed right across the platforms until you can jump to a higher one. Keep moving in the same direction, fighting or avoiding enemies, until you reach a door. Hornet can reach this door from either a lower or higher path, but I found the higher one to be safer. The lower path is filled with annoying flying enemies that have ranged attacks, plus those veins that trap you. It’s also closer to the swamp, so one misstep and you’ll lose silk.

Before I continue, let me emphasize how crucial the Clawline is. Without it, you can’t traverse the gap on the bridge. Similarly, the double jump is mandatory for reaching the secret path and for some platforming sections. So if you’re attempting this early, make sure you have these abilities. I learned this the hard way when I first tried without the Clawline—let’s just say it didn’t end well.

The swamp with maggots is particularly nasty. Those little critters can swarm you and drain your health quickly. I recommend taking them out from a distance if possible, or just sprinting past them. The platforms are your friend; stay on them and avoid falling into the muck.

Upon entering the next room, glide down slowly until you see the Bellway sign. Head inside and pay some Rosaries to unlock fast travel and a bench to rest. This is a crucial checkpoint. Once you’re done, return outside and glide the rest of the way down to enter the left room. Walk until the end and jump up to bait the veins. This will trap Hornet and effortlessly carry her up without taking any damage. Before the plant at the top consumes her, smash the attack button to break free and land on the floor. Approach the table at the end and take the Putrified Ducts map for free. No Rosaries required.

I was overjoyed. Not only did I save Rosaries, but I also unlocked a valuable map that would make exploring the rest of Pharloom much easier. Now I can freely explore or revisit any old areas I missed. The map reveals all the hidden routes, benches, and fast travel points, turning a confusing maze into a manageable adventure.

So there you have it. The Putrified Ducts map is a hidden gem that every Silksong player should grab early. It’s a bit of a trek, but the reward is well worth it. Just remember to bring your Clawline and double jump abilities, and be prepared for a few tricky jumps. Happy exploring!

Magnetite Dice in Silksong: a Yellow Tool with a low chance to ignore damage. Get it by beating Lumble the Lucky at dice.

As a longtime Hollow Knight fan who has been deep in Silksong’s 2026 meta, I can tell you that the Magnetite Dice is one of those tools that sounds like a joke until it saves your run. It is a Yellow Tool, and its in-game description claims it brings luck to the wearer. After testing it across dozens of boss attempts, I can confirm that description is vague for a reason: the Dice gives you a small chance to completely ignore an attack that would have damaged you. That is not a guarantee. It is more like a parachute that opens only when the wind feels like it.

What the Magnetite Dice Actually Does

Let me be blunt: the Magnetite Dice is not a god-mode button. It is a probability trinket. When equipped, there is a low chance that an incoming hit will deal zero damage. You might survive a fatal blow one moment and then eat a full combo the next. The emphasis is on low chance. If you are expecting consistent defense, you will be disappointed. If you are expecting a tiny, chaotic edge in a boss fight, you will get exactly that.

Because it is a Yellow Tool, it competes with a surprisingly shallow pool of offensive options in that color. For many builds, that makes the Magnetite Dice a must-equip for boss fights and elite enemy encounters. I slot it whenever I know a single mistake could end a long attempt.

Where to Find Lumble the Lucky

To get the Magnetite Dice the honest way, I made my way to the Blasted Steps. You can access this area after acquiring the Wall Jump ability in Shellwood and then heading to the top-left part of the map. Once inside, I worked through the platforming section and climbed until I reached the Bellway Station. After interacting with the bench, I headed left and down, where a passage leads to Lumble the Lucky.

Lumble is a gambler. He asks you to play a game of dice with him. The game is purely random. A win grants you 4 Rosaries, while a loss sets you back 4 Rosaries. The key to winning the Tool is to play and win 40 Rosaries from Lumble. The catch is that you need ten net wins, and every loss pushes you backward. If you rely on raw luck, this can take up to an hour.

The Save-Scum Method That Actually Works

Luckily, there is a way to cheese through this while also ensuring you win. I used it, and it turned a frustrating hour into a manageable ritual.

First, make sure you have rested at the nearby bench.

Play with Lumble until you have a 16–20 Rosary lead.

Once you have that lead, simply Save and Quit. You will be teleported back to the bench.

Go back to Lumble. If you lose three times consecutively, quit the game without saving. This returns you to that 16–20 Rosary mark.

Keep saving your progress once every 12 Rosaries gained. Repeat until the Dice is yours.

This method is like save-scumming a casino where the dealer is a bug with a death wish. It is not elegant, but it works.

The Easier Act 1 Method

There is a second method to acquire the Dice, and it is far less stressful. It involves completing the first Act and reaching the Coral Chambers inside the Citadel. Once you do that, you can revisit Lumble the Lucky only to find him lying dead. You can interact with the item near him, which is the Dice. No gambling, no save-scumming, no RNG. Just a sad discovery and a free Tool.

If you are already past Act 1, this is the route I recommend. If you are still early and want the Dice before a difficult boss, the Lumble method is your only option.

Why the Magnetite Dice Matters in Combat

The Magnetite Dice’s description states that it is believed to bring luck to the wearer. Even though this description can be a little vague, equipping it and trying it in combat will give you some idea of what it does. The tool makes it so that there is a small chance that an attack that would hit and deal damage to you will not deal any damage.

You might think this tool is overpowered, but the emphasis should be on the low chance. The chances of the effect triggering are very low. Even though it can sometimes save you in situations where you would be dead otherwise, you will not find it useful all the time. The tool is Yellow, and with how few offensive tools you have for that color, this is a must-equip for boss fights or enemy encounters.

Attribute

Tool Type

RNG Level

I treat it like a ghost in the machine that occasionally rewrites my death sentence. It is a lottery ticket where the prize is one more second of life. Sometimes that second is all you need to land the final hit.

Final Thoughts for 2026

As of 2026, the Magnetite Dice remains one of Silksong’s most interesting Yellow Tools. It has not been nerfed into oblivion, and it has not been buffed into a mandatory slot. It sits in that perfect sweet spot of unreliable but unforgettable. If you are early in the game, use the save-scum method at Blasted Steps. If you are late, just finish Act 1 and pick it up from Lumble’s corpse. Either way, equip it before your next boss attempt. The Magnetite Dice is not a shield. It is a rumor of a shield. And sometimes that rumor is enough.

If the Dice hunt has you thinking about how much time you have sunk into Hallownest’s successor, or if you are still deciding whether to pick up Silksong for a friend who has not yet made the jump, it is worth watching for a sale rather than paying full price on impulse. Metroidvanias in particular tend to cycle through discounts fairly often, and the difference between a full-price purchase and a seasonal deal can cover a good chunk of your next indie purchase.

Rather than refreshing store pages every few days, you can use a tracker that aggregates discounts across platforms. Sites like DealNest make that easier by collecting current offers in one place, so before you commit to a purchase — or gift someone a copy — it is worth taking a minute to [check game prices]( and see whether patience will save you a few dollars.

Hollow Knight: Silksong and Metroid Prime 4: Beyond finally arrive after brutal waits, delivering demanding Metroidvania action.

I still remember the exact moment I stopped treating Hollow Knight: Silksong like a myth and started treating it like a real game. When Team Cherry finally released its long-awaited Metroidvania on all platforms, I felt the same mix of disbelief and relief that had been building since 2019. The game did not just arrive—it landed with force. On OpenCritic, it holds a 95/100 Top Critic Average, with 100% of critics recommending it. On Steam, it sits at 91% positive despite recurring complaints about difficulty. For me, that tension is the point: Silksong is brutal, beautiful, and unapologetically demanding.

The Long Wait Was Not a Joke—Except When It Was

I followed Silksong from its brief 2019 announcement trailer through years of near silence. Team Cherry showed a few trailers here and there, but updates were rare. That quiet period turned into a strange community ritual. Fans made clown memes about Silksong, and I laughed at them because I was in them. Every Nintendo Direct, every showcase, every random Tuesday became a chance to put on the makeup again. The joke was never really about hating the game. It was about how much we wanted it and how little we knew.

Now that Silksong is out, those memes are mostly retired. The conversation has shifted to boss fights, tools, Crests, and the game’s steep learning curve. I have seen plenty of players celebrate its difficulty and plenty of others bounce off it. That split feels healthy. A sequel to Hollow Knight was never going to be easy, and Team Cherry did not pretend otherwise.

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Inherited the Clown Crown

If any game rivaled Silksong for the longest gap between announcement and release, it was Metroid Prime 4: Beyond. Nintendo first revealed it at its E3 2017 press conference, two years before Silksong’s announcement. At the time, the game was literally just a logo. Nintendo said Bandai Namco’s studios in Japan and Singapore would develop it, but that plan did not hold. In 2019, Nintendo restarted development because the initial version failed to meet internal expectations. Retro Studios, the original Metroid Prime team, took over. Retro had been working on an unannounced Switch platformer called Harmony, but that project was canceled to prioritize Metroid Prime 4.

For years, Metroid Prime 4 existed as a promise and a punchline. I remember watching fans ask for a trailer at every Direct, only to get another round of clown memes. Nintendo did not release a single trailer until June 2024. That reveal confirmed a 2025 release window for the Nintendo Switch. Later, Nintendo announced a Nintendo Switch 2 version with enhanced visuals and smoother frame rates. Even after multiple showings, Nintendo stayed oddly quiet about the exact release date, which made me nervous. I had already seen Silksong slip through enough windows to fear another delay into early 2026.

What 2026 Looks Like Now

By 2026, the waiting game is finally over. Metroid Prime 4: Beyond has launched as a Nintendo exclusive for Switch and Switch 2, and the enhanced version on the newer hardware delivers the smoother frame rates and cleaner visuals Nintendo promised. I have spent time with both games now, and the contrast is fascinating. Silksong is a handcrafted, punishing 2D labyrinth from a small team. Metroid Prime 4 is a first-person sci-fi adventure from a veteran studio that had to rebuild its project from scratch. Both took years to reach players, but they took very different roads.

Game

Hollow Knight: Silksong

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond
E3 2017
2025
Rebooted in 2019; Retro Studios took over from Bandai Namco

The clown memes are dead now. I do not miss the uncertainty, but I do miss the shared absurdity a little. There was something oddly bonding about waiting for a game that felt like it might never arrive. Silksong and Metroid Prime 4 both turned that waiting into a community language. When the games finally launched, the language changed from jokes to impressions, complaints, favorite bosses, and favorite weapons.

The Real Lesson From Two Long Waits

I think the lesson is not that delays are good. They are not. Metroid Prime 4’s reboot cost years and canceled another project. Silksong’s silence frustrated even the most patient fans. But both cases show that a long wait does not automatically mean a bad game. It means development is messy, especially when a small team or a rebooted studio is trying to meet impossible expectations.

As a player in 2026, I am just glad I can finally talk about these games as games. Silksong earned its 95/100 OpenCritic average and its 91% Steam positivity, even if its difficulty keeps some players at arm’s length. Metroid Prime 4: Beyond finally crossed the finish line and gave Switch and Switch 2 owners a new Samus adventure. The clown makeup is off. The controllers are on. And for once, the only mystery left is what Team Cherry and Retro Studios will do next.

That curiosity about what comes next tends to send me back through older catalogs, and it is easy to forget how expensive a backlog can get when every long-awaited release lands in the same window. Between Silksong, a new Samus adventure, and the steady stream of indies that fill the gaps in between, most players I know are trying to stretch a budget across far more games than they can finish. I have started being more deliberate about when I buy, waiting for the moments when prices actually drop instead of grabbing things at launch out of habit.

Lately I have been checking [best game deals]( before committing to anything, and it has changed how I approach the hobby. Finding a discount on a title I was already curious about makes it easier to take a chance on the weirder, smaller releases that big studios would never fund, which is exactly the kind of variety that keeps this medium interesting between the blockbusters.

Hollow Knight: Silksong best Tools guide highlights top Red Tools like Cogfly, Flea Brew, Shell Satchel, and Plasmium Phial for stronger 2026 runs.

I have been neck-deep in Hollow Knight: Silksong since launch, and even in 2026, after all the patches, route tech, and community discoveries, the right Tool loadout still separates a clean run from a total rage-quit spiral. There are over 65 different Tool items in the game, split into red, white, blue, and yellow categories. Red Tools usually give Hornet combat skills or extra abilities, white Tools do similar things but spend Silk and do not take up slots, while blue and yellow Tools lean into passive combat and exploration bonuses. You can only equip a handful at once, so every slot matters. No cap.

Below are the Tools I keep coming back to in 2026. Some are pure comfort picks, some are boss-melting monsters, and a few are the difference between a Steel Soul heartbreak and a victory lap.

️ My Top Red Tools

Cogfly

Cogfly is a Red Tool that summons a small bug companion to fight alongside you. It sounds simple, but it is absolutely clutch in larger battles because the Cogfly can smack foes you cannot pay attention to. Having one or more Cogflies at your side evens the odds in crowded arenas and gives you a numbers advantage in boss fights. Until they are damaged, Cogflies do not reset when you sit on a bench, which makes them one of the best long-lasting companions in the game. If you like playing with a buddy, this is your jam.

Flea Brew

Flea Brew is an incredibly strong Tool for the immediate buff it provides when consumed. It increases your attack speed and movement for a short time, letting you dodge more attacks, land extra strikes, and escape dangerous situations before they snowball. Like other Red Tools, you can equip multiple uses of Flea Brew before needing to reset by resting. In prolonged battles, especially against sturdier bosses or wave-based arenas, that continuous speed boost is worth its weight in rosaries.

Shell Satchel

On the surface, Shell Satchel does not look flashy, but if you rely on Red Tools, it is one of the best items for Hornet. It almost doubles the number of projectiles, caltrops, Cogflies, or other Red Tools at your disposal. That means more Flea Brew uses, more Silkshot ranged attacks, more Tacks traps, and more chances to turn a fight in your favor. Regardless of your playstyle, having extra Red Tool opportunities is huge in longer encounters.

Plasmium Phial

Plasmium Phial works like Flea Brew, but instead of speed, it gives you vitality. Activating this Tool grants an extra bar of life beyond your normal maximum. That means more hits before you die and more chances to survive tough fights. Extra health is always welcome, no matter your build, and in 2026’s harder challenge runs, it remains a top-tier safety net.

Longclaw

Even after upgrading the Needle, Hornet can struggle to hit flying targets or highly mobile opponents. Longclaw fixes that by extending the range of each strike, letting you hit enemies from further away. It helps preserve projectiles for other foes and makes it easier to use far-off enemies as stepping stones for exploration. Longclaw is useful outside combat, but its battle benefits make it incredibly versatile for almost any build.

Spool Extender

Spool Extender is similar to Plasmium Phial, but it lets you store extra Silk rather than gain extra life. Since Silk can be converted into health, this Tool gives you more ways to use the game’s most valued resource. It only becomes stronger as you unlock more Silk-costing abilities, making it a long-lasting pick for your whole adventure. Even without Silk abilities, a bigger resource pool means more healing in difficult encounters.

Barbed Bracelet

Barbed Bracelet is only for the boldest wanderers. It bolsters your damage to absurd levels, but it also increases how much damage you take. This risky Tool can make bosses fall in half the hits, but only if you are experienced enough to dodge attacks expertly. It represents the pinnacle of combat, and players who take no damage can wipe out enemies with ease. It is not for everyone, but when wielded properly, it is one of the strongest Tools in Hollow Knight: Silksong.

🧭 Utility and Survival Tools

Compass

Getting lost in a Metroidvania like Silksong is almost expected. Each region is a large, intricate area filled with multiple rooms and paths. Compass keeps track of your location in that seemingly endless space, and it becomes more useful the more locations you discover. Without it, you will be aimlessly wandering through regions trying to find your bearings. The only time to skip it might be right before a boss with an easy runback.

Fractured Mask

Fractured Mask is an extremely important early-game Tool, especially for players trying to overcome Steel Soul difficulty. When equipped, it puts a mask over your last piece of life, shielding you from what would be a killing blow. This Tool only works once before you rest on a bench, making it a get-out-of-jail-free card. That extra life can decide a desperate battle or save you from an environmental hazard. Just a sliver of extra health can be clutch early on.

Warding Bell

Using Silk to restore health is dangerous because it takes time and keeps Hornet in place. Warding Bell makes this process less risky by generating a large shield around you while you start binding life back. This prevents enemies from fully punishing your vulnerable state. As you upgrade Hornet, you get more chances to regenerate multiple life pieces through one quick binding. Warding Bell remains valuable because it blocks enemies during the long start-up of a Bind.

Quick Comparison Table

Final Thoughts

In 2026, Hollow Knight: Silksong is still a game where preparation is half the battle. The best Tools are not always the flashiest ones. Sometimes it is Compass stopping you from getting lost for the tenth time, or Fractured Mask saving your Steel Soul run from a random mistake. Other times it is Flea Brew turning a slow boss fight into a speedrun. I mix and match based on the region, the boss, and how confident I am feeling. If you are building for pure damage, Barbed Bracelet and Longclaw are nasty. If you want comfort, Compass, Warding Bell, and Fractured Mask have your back. Either way, do not sleep on Shell Satchel and Spool Extender, because more resources and more Red Tool uses can carry you through the toughest fights in Pharloom.

With so many builds and playstyles to experiment with, a lot of players end up wanting the game on more than one platform — a handheld for commute runs, a console for the big screen, or a PC copy for mods and higher frame rates. That is exactly where a [game price tracker]( like DealNest earns its keep, letting you compare current store prices, bundles, and discounts across regions so you are not paying full price for a title that goes on sale somewhere else every few weeks.

It is a small bit of preparation that pays off the same way a well-chosen Tool does — you spend a minute checking before you commit, and you save real money for the fights ahead.

Hollow Knight: Silksong Fine Pins wish guide: unlock Choral Chambers, hunt Reed and Choristor, and claim Rosaries with smart combat tips.

In the intricate, shadow-draped realm of Hollow Knight: Silksong, wishes are more than mere side quests; they are threads that pull players deeper into the game’s hidden corners. Among these, the Fine Pins wish offers a generous payout of Rosaries , but it demands a trek across the Choral Chambers. As of 2026, this guide remains the definitive resource for hunters seeking to finish the task without wasting hours. The key lies in knowing exactly which enemies to hunt and where they lurk.

Prerequisites for the Fine Pins Wish:

Defeat the Last Judge

Navigate the Underworks

Unlock the Choral Chambers

Free the First Shrine (clear silk around the bell)

Unlock Songclave

Accept the wish from the wish board

To even receive the Fine Pins wish, players must have progressed significantly. The quest becomes available only after unlocking the Choral Chambers, which itself requires defeating the Last Judge and navigating the Underworks. Once the Choral Chambers are accessible, the path continues. Players must climb the right side of the biome to reach the next boss arena. However, before stepping into that fight, there is a crucial detour: freeing the First Shrine by clearing the silk around the bell located at the top right of the biome. This action unlocks the Songclave area, a hub where the wish board resides. From that board, the Fine Pins wish can be accepted.

Once the wish is active, the real hunt begins. The objective is straightforward: collect Fine Pins by defeating two specific enemy types in the Choral Chambers—Reed and Choristor. These foes are not bosses, but they are scattered throughout the biome. Finding them can feel like trying to isolate a single instrument in a chaotic orchestra; the environment is noisy with other enemies, but once you recognize their distinct silhouettes, they become easier to spot.

️ The Reed is a flying creature that primarily relies on melee attacks, yet it can also throw its pin as a projectile. More annoyingly, it sometimes parries your attacks and launches a swift counter. To handle a Reed, stay mobile and strike after it commits to an attack or a failed parry. The Choristor, by contrast, resembles a knight and stays grounded. It mixes melee and ranged attacks, and it can leap toward your location while spinning to deal damage. Dodging its spin and punishing the recovery window is the safest approach.

Enemy
Combat Behavior
How to Counter

Reed
Flying creature
Melee attacks, can throw its pin, occasionally parries and counterattacks
Stay mobile, attack after it throws or parries

Choristor
Knight-like, ground-based
Melee and ranged attacks, can jump and spin
Keep distance, dodge the spin, punish recovery

Both enemies wield a pin, and when defeated, they have a chance to drop a Fine Pin. This drop is not guaranteed, so players may need to eliminate several of each. The telltale sign of a drop is a distinct white glow emanating from the enemy’s body as it falls to the ground. Chasing that glow is akin to following a will-o’-the-wisp through a marsh—brief, beautiful, and easy to lose if you are not quick. Grab it before it disappears.

For efficient farming, focus on areas with high concentrations of Reed and Choristor. The Choral Chambers have several rooms where these enemies respawn after resting at a bench. A good strategy is to clear a room, return to the nearest bench, and repeat. Because the drop rate is probabilistic, patience is key. The Fine Pins wish is a double-edged sword: it promises a pile of Rosaries, but demands the persistence of a gold panner sifting through riverbed pebbles. Still, the reward is worth it, especially for players saving up for expensive upgrades or tools.

It is also worth noting that the Fine Pins wish does not require a specific number of pins to be turned in—it simply asks for a certain quantity, typically a handful. The exact number may vary, but the process remains the same. As players accumulate pins, they can return to the wish board in Songclave to complete the quest and claim their Rosaries. The amount of Rosaries rewarded is substantial, making this one of the more profitable wishes in the game. For those who have already unlocked fast travel or have a bench nearby, the cycle becomes almost meditative.

Moreover, the Fine Pins wish serves as a microcosm of Silksong’s risk-reward philosophy. It does not demand pixel-perfect platforming or a grueling boss fight; instead, it tests the player’s knowledge of enemy behavior and map layout. By mastering the Reed’s parry timing and the Choristor’s spin, players can turn a potential chore into a rhythmic dance. The white glow of a dropped pin becomes a beacon of progress, a small victory in a world that often feels hostile and opaque.

In conclusion, the Fine Pins wish is a perfect example of Silksong’s design: a seemingly simple task that rewards game knowledge over raw skill. By unlocking Songclave, identifying Reed and Choristor, and exploiting respawn points, players can turn a potential grind into a brisk, profitable outing. Whether you are a completionist or simply in need of Rosaries, this wish is worth the effort. So sharpen your needle, keep an eye out for that white glow, and may your hunt be swift.

The same instinct that makes a well-planned farming loop satisfying—knowing precisely what you want, where it spawns, and refusing to settle for a worse return—tends to follow players out of the game and into the rest of their library. Patience and savvy pay off in a virtual economy, and they pay off even more when you’re spending real money on the games themselves. The best pickups rarely appear at full retail on launch day; they surface quietly during a sale window that most people never notice because nobody told them it was happening.

That gap is exactly what [game deals today]( was built to close. Instead of bouncing between a dozen storefronts, newsletters, and discount trackers in the hope of catching a price drop before it expires, you get one place to scan the current offers across platforms and genres—indie metroidvanias included. If you are the sort of player who would rather map out an efficient route than overpay out of impatience, it is worth a look before your next purchase.

Master Hollow Knight: Silksong Steel Soul Mode with brutal permadeath tips, unlock codes, and survival strategies for conquering Pharloom.

I still remember my first Steel Soul Mode run in Hollow Knight: Silksong. It was early 2026, and I thought I knew every corner of Pharloom. Then permadeath reminded me that confidence is a trap. One bad dodge, one careless pogo, and everything I built was gone. I sat there, staring at the screen… and then I started again. That loop is brutal, but it is also why I keep coming back. If you are thinking about stepping into Steel Soul Mode, let me share what I have learned.

What Is Steel Soul Mode?

Steel Soul Mode is Hollow Knight: Silksong’s hardest test. It features permadeath, so once you die, you restart the entire game. Every enemy and boss you defeated comes back. But this mode does not just recycle the base experience. Bosses can gain new attack patterns. The Moorwing, for example, might push into a fourth or fifth phase that throws even more attacks at you. Enemies may also appear in places you would never expect, forcing you to rethink old routes and old strategies.

That unpredictability makes every run feel unique. It also makes every mistake feel permanent.

How To Unlock Steel Soul Mode

You can unlock Steel Soul Mode in two ways. The straightforward method is to simply play Hollow Knight: Silksong and beat it. The second method is a hidden code, and it is much faster.

On the main menu, go to the Extras option. Once you are in the Extras menu, press the following buttons on your controller’s D-pad: Up, Down, Up, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right.

The screen should flash white for a moment. That flash is your signal that the game registered the code. Afterward, when you start a new game, you will see Steel Soul Mode listed under Classic Mode.

Tips To Complete Steel Soul Mode

When you combine a harder playstyle with permadeath, the whole game can feel impossible. Trust me, the first few hours will humble you. But with the right approach, Steel Soul Mode becomes a tense, thrilling dance instead of a wall.

Acquire The Crest Of The Reaper

Crests change how Hornet attacks and moves, and some let you equip more tools and items. The Crest of the Reaper is one of the best early picks for Steel Soul Mode because it helps you generate more Silk when you attack enemies.

You can find it early in the Greymoor region. It sits north of the Moorwing boss fight and west of the Halfway House. Before you claim it, you need to survive a few waves of enemies.

Whenever you heal, the Crest of the Reaper causes enemies to drop extra Silk orbs. You can collect those orbs by walking or jumping into them. That means you refill your Silk gauge much faster, which lets you heal or use skills more often.

To get the most from this Crest, you might need to stay on the attack. As you hit enemies and successfully heal yourself, you build Silk significantly quicker. It rewards aggression, but only controlled aggression.

Attempt Pogo Attacks

Pogo attacks mean attacking downward while you are in the air. If you land those downward slashes, Hornet does a mini bounce that helps her avoid most attacks. When you time the bounce toward a nearby enemy, you can chain another Pogo attack and get a second bounce.

Those bounces change the flow of a fight. You become more mobile, harder to hit, and better able to control space. In Steel Soul Mode, where one mistake ends the run, that mobility is priceless. ️

Pick Your Battles

Benches are absent in Steel Soul Mode, so respawning is not an option. That makes every fight a risk. It would be smart to be more selective about what you fight.

Not every enemy needs to be attacked. You can avoid many of them entirely. Attack only when it is necessary. For example, if you are low on Silk and need to heal, you can quickly strike a few enemies to regain the resource.

By prioritizing your battles, you save strength for the fights that matter. Instead of wasting Silk on smaller enemies, you keep a safety net for the larger ones. Honestly, I have lost more runs than I care to admit because I got greedy against a random enemy. You know what? That is the point of Steel Soul Mode. It teaches patience.

Tip
Why It Helps

Crest of the Reaper
Generates extra Silk orbs when healing, letting you heal or use skills more often

Pogo attacks
Bounce off enemies to avoid damage and chain extra hits

Pick your battles
Conserves Silk and reduces the risk of permadeath

Final Thoughts

Steel Soul Mode in Hollow Knight: Silksong is not for everyone. It is punishing, unpredictable, and sometimes downright cruel. But if you love mastering a game to its bones, it is one of the most rewarding challenges you can take on in 2026. Take your time. Learn the patterns. Respect every enemy. And when you fall… well, you know what to do. Get back up, and try again.

I will leave the rest for you to discover. Some lessons only permadeath can teach. ️

Half the battle with a game like Silksong is simply getting your hands on it at a fair price — especially when you are already planning to sink dozens of hours into a permadeath run. Between regional pricing differences, seasonal sales, and DLC bundles that appear out of nowhere, the number on the store page can shift more than you would expect. If you would rather not refresh a dozen storefronts every week hoping to catch a drop, [this price tracking tool]( handles that for you by quietly monitoring the games on your wishlist and letting you know the moment something is actually worth buying.

For anyone who treats gaming as a long-term hobby rather than a one-off purchase, that kind of patience pays off in the same way Steel Soul Mode does. You wait for the right moment, and you commit only when the odds are in your favor.

Hollow Knight: Silksong Phantom boss guide: beat the Exhaust Organ duel with move reads, healing windows, and silk arts.

Every so often a boss fight stops feeling like a wall and starts feeling like a conversation. In Hollow Knight: Silksong, that conversation happens high inside the Exhaust Organ, where an old master of the needle waits in silence for a challenger worth their time. Phantom is optional — a detour on the long road toward the Citadel — yet the duel they offer has become one of the most beloved encounters in all of Pharloom, a fast and elegant dance that recalls Grimm and the Mantis Lords far more than the grinding brutality of the Last Judge. Beat them, and the reward is not merely a second route forward, but one of the strongest silk arts the game has to offer.

️ Where the Old Master Waits

Phantom lives at the very top of the Exhaust Organ, a region tucked inside Bilewater. It can be reached first through Sinner’s Road, and later through the Putrefied Docks and the Whispering Vaults, acting as a bridge between Lower Pharloom and the Citadel. Before any of that, though, a traveler must first survive the Mist.

The Mist is a dense, disorienting puzzle, and brute force will not solve it. The rules are simple once understood:

Play your Needolin near spirit moths and follow the path they reveal.

Only take exits that the spirit moths themselves indicate.

Defeat wraiths the moment they appear — never let them accumulate.

Carry a dependable trap that is both aerial and ranged, so wraiths in tight corners can be cleared safely.

Once inside the Organ proper, the climb continues. Steam exhaust vents punish careless movement, and the way up is a vertical gauntlet of paths and platforms. Two habits make the ascent bearable: strike every stray spool you pass to refill silk for the fight ahead, and sit on the bench up and to the left of the central chamber module before committing.

️ Reading the Blade

Phantom is a medium-difficulty boss with a move list only slightly longer than what the early game has trained a player to expect — appropriate for an encounter that serves as the midgame handoff. They carry four moves in the first phase, and the second phase adds exactly one more with no other significant changes. The real challenge is a health pool that sits right alongside the Last Judge’s for sheer bulk.

Knowing when to heal matters more than knowing when to strike.

Window
What to do

Just after dodging an Aerial Pin Pull
Heal slightly off the ground, in the farthest corner

Immediately after escaping a Music of the Light
Heal, or lay a trap

During staggers
Free healing and free damage

Trap placement works beautifully in the same windows. Tacks, Silkshot, and Sting Shard all perform wonders against Phantom, and every one of them hits harder with the Pollip Heart tool equipped.

🧵 Silk Arts and Sharp Answers

Silk Storm earns its place here for bonus damage whenever spare silk allows, while Silkspear remains useful but less impressive, thanks to how many of Phantom’s attacks sweep quickly and horizontally.

Silk Storm: best used while jumping over Phantom during their Triple Stab or Pin Pull.

Silkspear: best used after a Music of the Light, or after dodging an Aerial Pin Pull.

Phantom’s attacks are strikingly close to Hornet’s old repertoire. Their movement is nimble and graceful, matching Hornet’s own running speed, which means standing still is a death sentence. Most of their attacks demand a dash to avoid, and accurate pogo strikes are the key to keeping the fight from dragging.

The Final Roar

Near the end, Phantom roars and vanishes, launching a five-hit series of downward slams that land one right after another. Swerve between each impact. Do not attempt to heal or set traps until the fifth and final strike has landed and Phantom has come to rest. This is not a true phase transition so much as a last-ditch effort to prove superiority — and it is where careless challengers die.

🪡 The Prize: Cross Stitch

Phantom is entirely about precision and reaction — fitting, given what they leave behind. As a reward for honorably ending their vigil, the victor receives the very parry ability Phantom used against them: Cross Stitch.

Cross Stitch parries all enemies and counters most attack types, and it remains one of the most satisfying silk powers well into the late game. Even players who have already reached the Citadel are strongly encouraged to turn back, climb the Exhaust Organ one more time, and claim it. Some fights are worth the walk back. This one is worth the whole journey.

For anyone still waiting on the sidelines, the barrier to entry is smaller than it looks — Silksong regularly dips below its sticker price if you know where to shop, and the savings are worth pocketing before you commit to the climb through the Exhaust Organ. Sites like DealNest aggregate discounted offers across storefronts, so a quick check there can turn a full-price purchase into a bargain. If you’ve been holding off on joining Hornet’s journey until the price felt right, browsing the [cheapest steam keys]( available is a sensible first step.

It’s a small detour, but one that mirrors the game’s own philosophy: patience and preparation pay off. Scout the deal, secure the copy, and then get back to the part that actually matters — learning Phantom’s rhythm until that five-slam finale stops being terrifying and starts being routine.

Hollow Knight: Silksong High Halls guide: grab Clawline, beat Cogwork Dancers, and reach the map location via spike-safe Citadel routes.

So you’ve clawed your way into the Citadel in Hollow Knight: Silksong, and now you’re staring up at High Halls like it’s the world’s most hostile apartment building. Well, it is. The Citadel is packed with platforming sections that will punish you for missing a single jump, and enemies that chase you like you owe them money. High Halls, accessible soon after leaving the Underworks, is no exception. But don’t worry—this guide will walk you through the route, the tricks, and the map location. And yes, there will be spikes. So many spikes.

First, a quick reality check: you need the Clawline ability. Without it, you’re just a bug with a needle and a bad attitude. Once you have Clawline, your first task is to find and defeat the Cogwork Dancers boss. Yes, those mechanical ballet nightmares. After they’re scrap metal, head down and left to reach the top left section of the Coral Chambers. There, you’ll spot a Bench directly below a few grapple points. Sit on it. Seriously, sit on it. You’ll thank yourself later.

From the Bench, start making your way up using Clawline. The first section is relatively simple—just go right and ignore the enemies. Why fight when you can run? Use your dash to zip past them if you’re feeling fancy. When you reach the grapple wheel, harpoon onto a hook and wait for it to rotate upward. Then use your abilities to slip through the top right passage. More enemies? Ignore them again. Dash over their heads like the graceful spider you are.

Now the real fun begins. You’ll enter a room with spikes on the bottom and another grapple wheel. This time, ignore the wheel. Instead, float downwards, carefully avoiding the spikes. You’ll see a grapple on your right—Clawline to it immediately, or you’ll become a Hornet kebab. Once you’re holding on, wait a few seconds. The spikes below you will retract. Then float down. You’ll have to do this little dance again. After that, you’ll spot an enemy. Avoid it by going further down. Easy, right?

Be careful in the next section. You have to move Hornet while floating to avoid spikes, and then harpoon one last time. This is where many players rage-quit. But you’re better than that, aren’t you? After the final harpoon, go further down. When you see the sign of a Ventrica Station on your right, head through the passage. You’ll come across a Bench. Interact with the Station if you have Rosaries—but make sure you have 70 remaining, because there’s a machine on the right that sells the map for High Halls. Yes, you have to pay for the privilege of knowing where you are. Capitalism at its finest.

Here’s a quick summary table for the visual learners:

Step
Action
Tip

1
Get Clawline, defeat Cogwork Dancers
Don’t skip the Bench

2
Go up from Coral Chambers Bench
Ignore enemies, dash past

3
First grapple wheel
Wait for rotation, go top right

4
Second room with spikes
Ignore wheel, float down, Clawline right

5
Wait on grapple
Spikes retract, then float down

6
Repeat, avoid enemy
Go further down

7
Final floating section
Move Hornet mid-air, harpoon

8
Reach Ventrica Station
Need 70 Rosaries for map

Why bother with High Halls at all? Because it’s there. Also, it’s packed with lore, secrets, and a few shiny things that completionists crave. In 2026, players are still debating whether High Halls is harder than the rest of the Citadel. (Spoiler: it is.) But the view from the top? Worth every spike.

The enemies in the Citadel are relentless. They’ll chase you across rooms, through tunnels, and into your dreams. But here’s a secret: most of them are slow enough to outrun. Use your dash, use your Clawline, and never look back. If you do get hit, don’t panic. Hornet can take a few hits. Just don’t fall on spikes. Spikes don’t care about your feelings.

Rosaries are the currency of Pharloom. If you’re broke, you might need to farm some before attempting this route. Or just sell your soul. Your choice. But remember: 70 Rosaries for the map is a bargain compared to wandering around blindly for hours. Trust me, you don’t want to be that bug.

So, are you ready to conquer the Citadel’s highest halls? Or will you let a few spikes break your spirit? Grab your Clawline and get climbing. The map won’t buy itself.

If your controller’s analog stick has started drifting after one too many failed harpoons, or you’re hunting for a cheaper copy of the game to hand off to a friend, it pays to know where the actual discounts are. Rather than tab-hopping between storefronts and hoping a sale pops up, you can [compare prices here]( and let DealNest do the scouting — useful whether you’re after peripherals sturdy enough to survive a boss fight or just a good deal on the next title in your backlog.

DealNest gathers listings in one place, so you spend less time grinding through pages and more time actually playing. No spikes, no rage-quits, just a quick look before you commit.

Find Seeker’s Soul in Hollow Knight: Silksong’s Bilewater via the Putrified Ducts shortcut to unlock secret Act 3.

I’ll be straight with you: Bilewater is a nasty piece of work. I’d heard whispers about the Seeker’s Soul in Hollow Knight: Silksong, but I didn’t realize it would send me through one of the game’s most miserable optional areas. Still, as of 2026, if you’re chasing the secret Act 3, you need this creepy little item. So here’s how I got it, how I used it, and what I wish I’d known before I took the plunge.

Long story short, Seeker’s Soul is tucked inside a shell home in Bilewater. It’s close to the Key of Apostate spot, so if you’re already hunting that key, you can kill two birds with one stone. I did exactly that, and it felt like a small mercy in an otherwise brutal zone.

There are two ways to reach it. I tried both because I’m a glutton for punishment.

Route 1: The Southern Slog

Start in Bilewater’s southern edge.

Pass through Sinner’s Road.

Push north until you hit the top section of Bilewater.

This route is the “classic” way, and by classic I mean it can kick your teeth in. You’ll face several waves of enemies, and then you’ll run into Groal, a boss who doesn’t believe in warm-ups. The worst part? There’s no nearby bench. If you fall in combat, you’re sent back to the last bench you visited. I learned that the hard way, and let me tell you, walking back felt like Groundhog Day.

Route 2: The Putrified Ducts Shortcut

Enter Bilewater from the northern side.

Use the Putrified Ducts route.

Drop into the top section and grab the Seeker’s Soul.

This is the route I recommend. It’s safer, faster, and it skips Groal entirely. The catch? You need the Double Jump skill, which means you can’t pull this off early. It’s a midgame route, plain and simple. If you have Double Jump, take it. If you don’t, maybe go do something else first, because the southern route is a real gauntlet.

Route
Entry Point
Boss?
Requirement
Verdict

Southern
Sinner’s Road
Groal
None, but high risk
Only if you hate yourself

Northern
Putrified Ducts
None
Double Jump
Best route

Once I grabbed Seeker’s Soul, I stared at my inventory like, “Okay, what now?” The answer is: not much, at least at first. Seeker’s Soul is required to unlock the secret Act 3 in Silksong. But it’s not a solo act. You need three other souls, and two of them only become obtainable after you promise the Silk and Soul Wish. So until you trigger the Silk and Soul quest—and that takes a fair bit of prerequisite work—Seeker’s Soul just sits in Hornet’s inventory like a weird paperweight.

That’s the thing that tripped me up. I thought I’d missed a prompt or a hidden door. Nope. The game just wants you to hold onto it. So if you’re in the same boat, don’t panic. It’s not bugged; it’s just waiting for the rest of the quest chain to catch up.

While you’re collecting pre-quest items, there’s another one worth grabbing: the Snare Setter. I picked it up from Weavenest Atla, and it’s a handy tool to have in your pocket. Here’s how I did it.

First, go to Bone Bottom and find the door that requires the Needolin song. Play the song, and you’ll be transported down into Weavenest Atla. Once you’re down there, look for a wall you can climb. Climb up until you spot a route at mid-height on the left side. Slip into that hidden route, then find another way up. Keep heading up, and you’ll eventually spot the Snare Setter sitting on top of a desk. Grab it, and you’re golden.

I’ll admit, I walked past that hidden route twice before I saw it. The game doesn’t exactly roll out a red carpet. But once you know where to look, it’s not too bad. Just keep an eye out for climbable walls and side paths.

So, what’s the bottom line? If you’re aiming for the secret Act 3 in 2026, you need Seeker’s Soul. Take the Putrified Ducts route if you have Double Jump. If you don’t, prepare for a rough ride through Sinner’s Road and Groal. And remember: Seeker’s Soul is only one piece of the puzzle. The Silk and Soul Wish quest has to be active before the other souls even show up. Until then, let it sit in your inventory and gather dust.

Would I do it again? Maybe. Bilewater still gives me the heebie-jeebies, but the payoff is worth it. If you’re going for 100% or just want to see what Act 3 has in store, don’t skip this one. Just bring patience, a fully upgraded Hornet, and maybe a snack. You’re going to need it.

All this waiting around for quest chains to unlock is a good reminder that gaming often involves a lot of patience — and sometimes a lot of money, too. Whether you’re stocking up on metroidvanias to fill the gap between Silksong sessions or hunting for your next obsession, a [steam deal finder]( like DealNest makes it easy to track price drops across your wishlist without lifting a finger. It won’t help you beat Groal, but it might save you enough to afford a few extra snacks.
